The new Dutch administration threatens to ‘double cut’ on aid that reaches social entrepreneurs and their organizations in developing countries. After a first announced budget cut early November, the Dutch government is now planning to cut even more, reducing the spending budget with over a third. ENOUGH=ENOUGH!
This way the Dutch government leaves those people who work in difficult circumstances to make a decent living, who take up issues where their governments fail, who are committed to human rights, who effectively fight corruption and encourage their government to improve governance practices, in the cold.
To stop this, the Dutch development organizations have joined hands in a joint action against further budget cuts. With the action ENOUGH=ENOUGH (Dutch: GENOEG=GENOEG) we protest against the proposal of Ben Knapen, Minister for European Affairs and International Cooperation.
