| Asofenix proposes to develop a rural electrification project by renewable energy in three communities located in the municipality of San Jose de los Remates. The population of these communities is engaged in agriculture for subsistence, to supply the local market and in a lesser extent to the raising of livestock. Asofenix work is relevant because it benefits the poor in rural areas of the country, through the use of solar energy and hydropower (PCH), with a strong emphasis on community organization. With the implementation of this project ASOFENIX aims: to expand farming development, to improve the coffee production system, to create a small company of women devoted to the processing of orange juice, to install energy to health centers, base houses and schools, to use energy for activation of mobile and land-line phones as well as to improve the way of life of families in their homes. With the beneficiary families from solar panels will be established a micro credit system. For a good running of this program Hill be elaborated a set of rules to establish clearly all the implementation concerning points, sustainability, credits repayments and its administration. The time credit is determined by economic conditions and ability to pay for each beneficiary. The funds recovered by monthly payments of the loan will be used to benefit other families in the same community or from other near communities that do not have energy. This creates a revolving fund to enable poor families to get a small credit to access photovoltaic solar energy. Asofenix is an important HIVOS counterpart on the issue of renewable energy and efficiency energy, providing to remote rural communities, electricity and drinking water comes from renewable energy for domestic use, production and services. It emphasizes capacity building and self-efficient management of natural resources for gender equality. |
