| Throughout the year ALLPA needs quite a large share of capital to be able to buy products from producers. Orders will be standardly financed up to 50%. On a local capital market Allpa can only qualify for short running credits because the offered pledge cannot cover the financial need. As a result these short running loans are expensive and time consuming. Via Fair Trade Allpa asked the Hivos Triodos Fund for a loan of 300.000 USD. This capital is used to cover a part of the financial need an fill up the loans. The missing part will still be received on the local capital market. The time course of the loan will be 5 years. Hivos secures 80% of the asked amount, while Fair Trade will secure 20%. In 2007 ALLPA will receive an additional amount of USD 50.000. |
