Sign the petition! Eliminate all child labour
On the 10th and 11th of May a Global Child Labour Conference will be held in The Hague, The Netherlands. Focus will be on the worst forms of child labour. However, the campaign ‘Stop Child Labour – School is the best place to work’ believes this is not enough.
Hivos and other partners of the campaign have proven that it is not only theoretically desirable but also practically feasible to eliminate all forms of child labour and get every child into school – provided political will and concerted action are mobilized. Moreover, a world without child labour and the right to education is something that we have promised to all children!
Therefore, the campaign ‘Stop Child Labour – School is the best place to work’ kindly invites you to sign the petition and support our call for more coherent action to realize all children’s rights.
The organizers of the conference will present the outcome of the petition to the Chair on the evening before the Conference.
'Stop Child Labour - School is the best place to work' is a world-wide campaign run by organizations in six European countries in cooperation with partners in child labour affected countries. European partners in the campaign are members of the Alliance2015 network of development organizations. Within the Netherlands the campaign is a joint initiative of Hivos, the Dutch Teachers Union (AOb), the India Committee of the Netherlands (ICN), the Federation of Dutch Trade Unions (FNV) and Stichting Kinderpostzegels Nederland.
