International conference on Knowledge and Change
On the 29th of September the Hivos Knowledge Programme organizes a three day international conference on Knowledge and Change in The Hague.
New answers
Over the last four years, Hivos together with its academic and civil society partners explored the potential of academic-practitioner collaboration in five thematic knowledge programmes, to find new answers on key developmental questions of our time.
Debate on knowledge
This conference is organized to contribute to the debate on knowledge and change by sharing and discussing some of the emerging insights from our experiences. At the conference we aim to both reflect on theory and practice of development dilemmas as well as methodologies of knowledge development. We have invited activists, NGO practitioners and scholars from all continents.
New buzzword
The conference deals with the new buzzword in the international aid language. And the buzzword is ‘knowledge’. Like many of the previous magic bullets the meaning of knowledge is quite open. What knowledge, whose knowledge, knowledge for what?
Michael Edwards
The opening address to the conference on September 29th will be given by Michael Edwards, writer on the global role of philanthropy and civil society. Michael Edwards will give his own perspective on academic-practitioner collaboration and the relationship between knowledge and social and economic change.
