Ben Witjes to succeed Allert van den Ham
Ben Witjes is the new Director of Hivos Programmes and Projects. Since 2007 he has worked as Director of the South-East Asian regional office of Hivos in Jakarta. Witjes succeeds Allert van den Ham, who will take up the position of Director Asia in Vietnam for development organization SNV in August 2010. Ben Witjes combines his vast knowledge and extensive experience with a pleasant leadership style as well as a great deal of creativity. In the role of Director of Programmes and Projects all our partner organizations and colleagues will benefit from his skills.
After seven years, Allert den Ham Director of Programmes and Projects, is leaving Hivos. Looking back on his years with Hivos, Van den Ham is satisfied: “We have succeeded in strongly expanding the programme over the last few years, entering into cooperation partnerships with innovative foreign parties, setting up a fascinating knowledge programme and substantially reducing the financial dependency on the government’s co-finance programme. These ambitious goals have all been achieved. It is time for a new assignment,” says Van den Ham.
