Eco Matser is Coordinator Climate, Energy and Sustainable Development at Hivos and is responsible for the Iconic Island Initiative. The biggest challenge is increasing the access to energy for the 70% of the population that lives in the remote areas of Sumba and does not have connection to electricity grid. 'Sumba can be an example to other islands and a mirror for the West', says Matser.
