Youth Affirmative Foundation is an independent, flexible, democratic, non-profit youth organization working for youth empowerment, in Zimbabwe with a vision to strive in partnership with community, public and civil society organizations to achieve MDGs for developing a just, peaceful and prosperous society where all have equal access to opportunities irrespective of gender, color, race, religion and status.
Youth Affirmative Foundation was , established in April 2000
by a group of highly motivated and civic minded youths Over the last five years YAF enjoys the history of being a civil society organization committed to work for the youth with the main purpose to bring changes in policies with the help of the locals that can lead them towards a prosperous and peaceful society by promoting volunteerism in youth.
Yaf was founded as
an organization designed "to encourage young people to speak up and pursue lasting solutions to problems they care deeply about." The organization provides a variety of resources, training, and advocacy to promote youth civic engagement around the Zimbabwe
We came into existence as a Youth Organization that seeks to unite and consolidate efforts of youth, as well as striving for the betterment of the Socio, Economic, Educational, Cultural, Gender and the Political situations among the youth.
We are youth from Zimbabwe, united by a common vision; to strengthen and sustain an actively compassionate humanity. Our movement is open to any youth who pursues this goal.
As the Youth Affirmative Foundation, we aim to support all young people in the Zimbabwe and the world to exercise their rights to participate in decisions that affect them and to have a voice on issues about which they have a strong opinion.
Well, we want to be youth champion by representing the voice of young people in the Zimbabwe We represent a unique and diverse group of young people; providing them with opportunities to get active and have a voice heard on decisions which affect their life and which you are interested
in.
What do we do?
We work to build the capacity of young people through our service and by providing support, advice and other useful stuff on involving young people at all levels of decision-making. We bring them closer by helping them to get involved locally and internationally
Youth Affirmative Foundation promotes the active citizenship of young people, which really just means we want to help develop the skills and abilities of young people. This might be in encouraging young people to participate in decision-making, getting young people working together and taking collective action to achieve change. We aim to help by representing young people's views nationally

We call upon young l people who are tired of passively waiting for things to change.
Our Intention
To create an alliance of young people based on the awareness of humanity’s interconnectedness. We believe that if enough youth share the value of peace, tolerance can be brought to an end. If enough people shift their awareness toward social justice, human rights, then injustice, oppression, can be stopped..
To provide a united voice as advocates for youth to improve the conditions of young people in Zimbabwe, and to help young people reach their full potential.
The Youth Affirmative Foundation aims to connect youth caring communities and groups at a global level.
Actions
Forming a global network
of young individuals and organizations united by awareness and concern.
Aims and Objectives:
- To lobby for the realistic inclusion of youth in policy formulating and their subsequent participation.
- To promote principles of integrity, democracy, gender equality and tolerance among youth.
- To initiate youth development projects and activities with the aim of encouraging the active participation of youth in the process of their own empowerment.
- To initiate and facilitate workshops and forums on civic education.
