TERCO Productions is a cultural company of familiar origin, founded in 2002 a Honduran director of cinema, Katia Lara and her husband, an Argentine photographer, Andrea Papousek.
This young company also counts among its members with Karla Lara, the director small sister, a songwriter of recognized trajectory in Honduras. The whole team is made up of 6 people, two technicians in administration and accounting and one producer. Additional experts are hired to give support in the production of events or specific cultural products. The main objective of TERCO is "to contribute to the strengthening of our cultural identity as Central Americans, generating professional, physical, technical and commercial conditions to create, to promote and to keep artistic expressions of high quality, that could compete with transnational companies of entertainment, to safeguard our cultural wealth in sustainable form standardization that today prevails in this globalize world."
In this sense, Terco one defined as an organization of management and cultural promotion, work that is done in three artistic disciplines, that are its strong points: the audio-visual one (cinema and video), music and dance. Terco has made in his short existence an impressive series of events, that includes the production of original CDs, promotion of concerts of Central American songwriters, Co-production or production of at least seven audio-visuals, artists' workshops, and the accomplishment since 2005 of his emblematic event: The International Encounter of Contemporary Dance ESPIRAL.
For Hivos this organization gathers many conditions to be supported: coincidence with its four criteria of policy (artistic quality, innovation, social commitment and accessibility), combined with talent and capacities for networking and the political incidence.
