Hivos will support the set up of the LAMBDA secretariat in terms of instritutional costs as well as project activities. The program support will focus on lobbying for the repeal of homophobic legislation whilst the public awareness campiagn will
raise the profile on the rights of the LGBTI community in Mozambique. The objective of this contract is to enhance the numbers of LGBTI people coming out of the closet and celebrating their sexuality. It will also try and create an enabling legal framework so that the sexual minorities are not criminalised when they exercise their rights. Hivos support sthe internetnion as there is little support to sexual minorities and they are at risk as Mozambique is highgly homophobic.
