Subtitle the tyrant, speak out against censorship
Hivos started this satirical online competition to speak out against censorship. Participants get the chance to add creative subtitles to videos of tyrants (dictators). We used speeches (via YouTube) of the Iranian President Ahmadinejad, Libyan leader Gaddafi and the North-Korean leader Kim Jong-il.

The campaign symbolizes the sharp contrast between freedom of speech in the Netherlands and state censorship in countries such as Syria and Iran.Hivos wants to strengthen the fight of activists, artists and bloggers for freedom, justice and human rights. Dutch participants are asked to support and speak out for activist who fight against oppression in their country.
